Fire Resistance Calculation
ENGINEERING AND DESIGN
Fire resistance calculation of steel structures in accordance with EN 1993-1-2 and DB-SI (CTE)
At Jansa Metal, we carry out the fire resistance calculation of steel structures, determining how many minutes each steel element of the structure can withstand under a fire scenario, in accordance with Eurocode EN 1993-1-2 and the Basic Document SI of the Spanish Building Code (CTE).
Once the required fire resistance time is defined with the client, we perform the structural recalculation under fire conditions, evaluating self-weight and load-bearing capacity of each element at high temperatures.
Based on this data, we determine the exact coating thickness needed for each profile to meet regulatory requirements.
Then, in our workshop, we apply the required intumescent paint to achieve the fire resistance rating demanded by the project (EI30, EI60, EI90, EI120…).
We’ve been solving metal structure challenges for over 40 years. We know how to do it.
